Fresh snow & Freeride

Thanks to its particular position, the area of Porta Vescovo is an authentic paradise for the lovers of fresh powder and the freeriding enthusiasts. Countless freeriding lines descend from Porta Vescovo towards Arabba, running through the woods and valleys which surround the slopes of the ski area.

For the freeriding aficionados, a quick stop on the Marmolada is a must: the Queen of the Dolomites offers one of the widest areas to mark your lines and curves off-piste on the fresh powder right after an abundant snowfall!

WARNING!

Don not venture off-piste if you are not an expert skier.
We recommend the skiers to act with utmost caution, and always to check snow conditions by calling the Avalanche Centre (snow forecast /
answering machine number: 0436 780007)

ANY EXPERIENCE?

Freeriding sometimes is an extreme and therefore a dangerous sport, an activity reserved exclusively for skilled and experienced skiers with the right equipment, including the knowledge of first aid basics.

FOLLOW A GUIDE

If you are not familiar with these freeriding areas, ask one of our Mountain guides or a Ski instructor with specific freeriding qualifications to come with you. Absolutely do not venture alone in off-piste areas.

RIGHT EQUIPMENT

Compulsory equipment: freeride skis or snowboard, avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe and helmet! Remember that also a seemingly safe area could hide some pitfalls.

AVALANCHE FORECAST

Before venturing off-piste, always check the avalanche forecast. Remember that also with a "danger level 3" on the avalanche risk scale, the spontaneous avalanches may occur.
