In 2009 Dolomites have been declared a Unesco World heritage site for its geological importance and the aesthetic value of its landscape.
The area of the municipality of Livinallongo del Col di Lana, which surrounds the Dolomiti Porta Vescovo Resort, was the scene of bloody clashes during the Great War.
This area presents a significant biodiversity due to its vast outcrops of volcanic origin and its geographical position of transit between western and eastern, oceanic and continental influxes.
Enrosadira is the name of the phenomenon that, at dawn and at dusk, lights up the peaks of the Dolomites with an evocative shade of pink that gradually turns to red, orange and violet.
This term, which derives from Ladin tradition, literally means "to become pink", and the terraces of Dolomiti Porta Vescovo Resort are the ideal setting to observe this natural phenomenon.
